ABOUT ME

My name is Mikko Kanninen and i am a Doctor of Arts, actor, theatre director and artistic researcher. I live in Tampere, Petsamo in an old house which i seem to renovate all the time.

I have directed and acted in many theatre performances, audio theatre productions and movies. Currently i am positioned as an Artistic Director and CEO at Tampere Theatre.

As an Artistic Researcher i have been conducting research in combining cyborg theories and architectural thinking in the epistemological questions at the actors performing bodies.

I have also been a project director in many projects in The Centre for Practice as Research in Theatre T7.

Currently have been mostly active with TELEPRESENCE IN PERFORMANCE TRAINING AND PERFORMING ARTS.

My hobbies include serious boardgaming and roleplaying, ice swimming, triathlon and making music in several bands.
